Ian is a dentist whose clinical practice is limited to the specialty of Endodontics (root canal treatment). This field of Dentistry is concerned with infection and inflammation of the pulp tissue of teeth. These situations often cause pain and infection but when treated effectively, the teeth can be restored to full function and patients can maintain their natural arch of teeth.

Ian is a member of the British Endodontic Society and holds a master’s degree (Distinction) in Endodontics from King’s College London and a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry, from the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng). Ian has worked in practice providing Endodontic treatment to patients on referral for several years and has also worked as a Clinical Teacher in Restorative Dentistry at Liverpool University Dental School.

Ian divides his clinical time between Elbow Lane Practice and Rose Lane Practice in Liverpool.

Ian is happy to accept referrals for all aspects of Endodontic treatment including re-treatment, fractured instrument retrieval, perforation repair and apicectomy. Treatment is usually offered after an initial consultation. However, if the patient is suffering acute pain, then an urgent appointment can be arranged with the patient being seen and usually treated the same day.

Crowns and definitive post/cores can be provided but Ian will only do so at the specific request of the referring Dentist. Patients will be returned to the referring practice once treatment has been completed.
